SOFT WITNESS

Soft Witness is a design practice that exists in the shadow space between memory and function. Deliberate and sentimental – practical and poetic, its output is an ode to objects personified as the quiet observers within the interiors of our lives. Founded by American designer Whitney Krieger, the studio aims not to fill a void, but rather to articulate universal feeling through objects that recall evocative memories through tactile expressions that while intimately individual are unequivocally familiar. All pieces from lighting and furniture to wall sculptures are produced in a bespoke fashion by skilled artisans in Italy.
